The construction of our school building started on 03.09.1979 and the construction of the practice hotel ended on 20.03.1986. The building was first provisionally accepted and its final acceptance took place at the end of the defect liability period after overcoming the defects. Hotel and Tourism Vocational School was founded in the academic year of 1984-1985 considering the importance of foreign language knowledge as well as the need and demand from tourism establishments for qualified personnel who can speak a foreign language. This school is a 4-year school which has foreign language intensive (English, German and Russian) courses and trains qualified staff for the sector and students both for the profession and higher education.

Our school admits female and male students who have graduated from the primary school, have scored high enough to be placed in our school in the selection and placement examination for the secondary education institutions and passed the interview held by our school. The interview commission which was created for students includes school administrators, vocational course teachers, Turkish language and literature teachers, school counsellors, a medical doctor and industry representatives. The interview intends to identify if students have any problem which could prevent them from being employed in the tourism sector and if they can adapt to the sector requirements.

Our school has sub-fields/branches of service and kitchen under the field of Food and Beverage Services. In addition, we have Front Office, Operation and housekeeping branches under the field of Accommodation and Travel Services. Our students are admitted to our school after choosing their fields, however they choose their branch at the 11th grade. Our students participate in work-based skills trainings (internships) relevant to their fields between May and October in the prominent businesses of Antalya. They attend such trainings twice during their time at our school, the first internship being when they are in the 10th grade and the second one in the 11th grade. Our graduates are employed by tourism establishments or continue with higher education (we also have part-time students who continue their university education and work at tourism establishments at the same time). In addition, our school has a practice hotel which has been operational since 1986 with 96 rooms, 200 beds, 2 restaurants, 4 multi-purpose meeting rooms, 1 outdoor swimming pool, mini turf football field, a tennis court.
