The foundations of our school were laid by considering the structural features required by the Aircraft-Maintenance area within the borders of Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul, in order to eliminate the lack of technical staff needed within the framework of the development of the aviation industry, which our school has determined as a strategic target in line with the vision and goals of our country. Carrying the rightful pride and responsibilities of being the first high school focusing on this field in our country, we started to enroll our first students in the 2010-2011 school year. Providing education and training in the field of aviation, our school is named after the first Turkish pilot Sabiha GÖKÇEN. Sabiha GÖKÇEN (1913-2001) is the world’s first female fighter pilot as well as the first Turkish female pilot. She is Atatürk’s adopted daughter.

In addition to the field of Aircraft Maintenance, there is Electric-Electronic Technologies field in our school, which received its first students during the same school year. Later in the 2015-2016 school year, Motor Vehicles Technology field was launched and received its first students. Institutionalisation activities in our school continue with great speed and effort.
